What decides the price of your AC
Refrigerant type
R32 units are the current standard and resell best. Older R22 machines are still bought, but the phase-out of R22 caps what anyone will pay.
Copper and condenser health
A leaking coil means re-brazing plus a gas charge, so a unit with an intact condenser is worth several times one with pinholes.
Inverter or fixed speed
Inverter compressors hold value because the electricity-bill argument still applies to a second owner.
BEE star rating and age
A five-year-old 5-star unit is still efficient by today's standards. A ten-year-old 1-star unit is priced as metal and parts.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to get the gas pumped out before pickup?
No, and you should not try. The technician recovers the refrigerant into a cylinder before separating the flare joints, which is safer and is what keeps the copper worth anything.
Will you buy an AC that does not cool?
Yes. The compressor, the copper coil and the outdoor fan motor are all saleable. Low gas, a dead capacitor and a failed PCB are cheap fixes for a refurbisher, so name the symptom.
Is the indoor unit sold with the outdoor unit?
Always. A split AC is priced as a matched pair; an orphan indoor unit has little resale value because the pairing and the gas charge have to be redone.
Do you buy ACs in every city?
Pickup runs in the metros and the tier-1 and tier-2 cities listed on the site. If your city is not covered, the booking form says so before you commit to a slot.
