A dried inkjet head or a worn laser drum is often more than the machine is worth, so this is checked before anything else.
Paper path
Pickup rollers that feed two sheets at once, or a machine that jams every third page, is priced as a repair rather than as a working printer.
Cartridge state
Part-used cartridges are included with the machine. A printer sold with no cartridges at all is quoted lower because it cannot be tested.
Network and Wi-Fi
A printer that joins a network without a callback is worth more to a small office than a USB-only unit.

Will you buy a printer with dried ink cartridges?
Yes. The mechanism, scanner glass, board and PSU all have value, and heads are serviceable. Say that the cartridges are dry so the quote is right first time.
Do you buy office printers in bulk?
Small offices replacing a whole floor of machines are handled as one pickup, which is usually better for the seller than separate visits.
Can I sell a scanner or a MFP without the fax part working?
Yes. Fax is largely irrelevant to second-hand demand now, and a dead fax modem does not affect print, scan or copy.
How should I transport it?
You do not. The pickup team lifts it. Leave the cartridges seated and tape the output tray shut so nothing opens in the lift.
